Meet Dr. Daniel Landsberger, Vice Dean for Students at the Dina Recanati School of Medicine

Meet Dr. Daniel Landsberger, Vice Dean for Students at the Dina Recanati School of Medicine and an expert in internal medicine with a master's degree in health systems management. He serves as the chief physician at Maccabi Healthcare Services.

Dr. Landsberger, 62, is married to Merav and is a father of three. He studied medicine in South Africa and moved to Israel three days after his wedding. He completed his residency at Hadassah Ein Karem in Jerusalem and served as a doctor in the Israeli Air Force during his military service.

After his discharge, he joined Maccabi Healthcare Services in various roles: family doctor, head of the urgent care centers, head of community medicine, medical director of the Sharon district, and currently, the chief physician. Among his public roles, he is a member of the public health basket committee and the health council.

Dr. Landsberger shares, "I enjoy planning trips with family and friends, from nature reserves at the edge of Africa, coral beaches in the Pacific Ocean, the Mediterranean Sea, to the northernmost regions of Canada, where I also worked as a doctor at one of the most remote hospitals in the world. At home, our lifestyle is vegan; perhaps as a result, we host animals that wander in from the neighborhood (dogs, cats, hedgehogs, and more).

His message to students: "To be a good doctor, you need to be a good and curious person. You must see medicine not just as a profession, but as a calling and a privilege to help others."
